Meters For Liters: More Than Just a Run - It’s a Community
Are you an avid runner who loves beer? Join Meters for Liters, a free weekly 5K running event hosted by the Notch Run Club at Notch Brewing at the Charles Speedway. This is not a classic race, but rather an opportunity for those in the Brighton community and beyond who enjoy running to finish a 5K, meet new people, and drink some delicious beer.
The Vitals: What You Need to Know
Notch Run Club’s Meters for Liters runs every Thursday from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at 525 Western Ave in Brighton, MA
The route has the following pattern:
- Begin at the Charles River
- Run down towards the river on the gravel path
- Run under the Eliot Street Bridge, continuing along the gravel path
- Sprint back to the Arsenal Street Bridge
Once you cross the finish line, you can enjoy some cold beer.
The Perks of Meters For Liters - Notch Run Club
Notch Brewing’s 5K is a great way to meet people, whether you’re new to the Boston area or looking to share your love of running with others. The Meters for Liters event even has a philosophy, encouraging all runners to live to the fullest.
The Philosophy follows three rules:
- Inclusivity: Welcome to all running paces, humans, and even dogs.
- Community First: Emphasis on a supportive and friendly atmosphere.
- No Pressure: It’s not a race (unless you want it to be!). Walkers are welcome!
If you enjoy the run, you’ll love the post-run reward even more! Drink some well-earned beer or non-alcoholic drink options. Once you complete 10 runs with Meters for Liters, you can earn some Notch swag from t-shirts, hats, and tote bags. Plus, the classic Notch running gear is created by New Balance.

Other Exciting Events at the Charles Speedway
Throughout June, explore two more events at the Speedway in Brighton. On June 15th, come celebrate at the 5th Annual Block Party from 12 pm to 5 pm. Enjoy food and drink, listen to music, and have a good time with the Golf Simulator and face painting.
For those seeking some retail therapy, check out the Brighton Bazaar. The bazaar always has its monthly night market on one Thursday of the month from 5 pm to 10 pm, and occasionally on one Saturday and Sunday of the month from 11 am to 6 pm. You’ll find several local businesses and vendors who sell a range of items from art, vinyl, and vintage.
