2025 Reverse: A Year in Review

Before we officially say goodbye to 2025, we want to take a moment to celebrate the memories made, the laughs shared, and the meaningful connections built at The Speedway this year. This year was a record-breaking one in The Speedway history, with 45 events hosted and over 150,000 guests walking through our doors! From unforgettable events to everyday moments, it has been an absolute joy to watch this community grow and come together.

Winter 2025

December: Speedway Holiday Stroll X Brighton Bazaar

To round out the year, we got into the festive spirit with The Speedway Holiday Stroll × Brighton Bazaar. This beloved annual event brought families together for joyful holiday shopping, gingerbread-making, and plenty of seasonal cheer!

January: Winter Weekends

Saturdays and Sundays were well spent with Brighton Bazaar: Winter Weekends. These weekend days warmed our hearts as visitors could sip spiced goodness and shop from over fifty small local businesses.

February: Sleepless at The Speedway

Love was in the air at the Annex! We hosted a good old-fashioned, sleepover-themed community event for all of our pals, complete with crafting cards, playing games, and of course, watching Sleepless in Seattle. Drinks were served to toast the gals and the vals, thanks to Rite Tea + Whisky Bar, which served up magical mocktails and cocktails. Guests also enjoyed a pop-up from Read My Lips, a diverse bookstore, featuring a handpicked selection of romantic books and novels that had everyone swooning.

Spring 2025

March: Saint Patrick’s Day Weekend

Opening Weekend was a hit, kicking off the season with a double header of lively and festive events. Starkbierfest, hosted by Notch Brewing, got the crowd buzzing during their annual celebration, with spirits running high thanks to half-liters of beer, Loggerhead Hot Poker, and lively tunes from the TubaFrau Hofbräu Band. The celebration didn’t stop there; the fun continued with a Brighton Bazaar featuring a scavenger hunt across The Speedway businesses, sending participants on a lucky chase all the way to the end of the rainbow.

April: North Horde

In April, we hosted one of our most popular events, North Horde Armored Combat, drawing crowds to the Notch Biergarten for sword fights and spirited fun. Guests gathered for the revelry, laughter, and excitement of one of the most anticipated events on The Speedway calendar.

May: COOLIDGE @ THE SPEEDWAY

May marked the start of our first outdoor movie of the year with our community partner, Coolidge Corner Theatre. Since 2024, we’ve partnered with Coolidge Corner Theatre to bring movie lovers together for cozy outdoor screenings, inviting friends to gather, relax, and enjoy a film under the open sky.

Summer 2025

June: 5th Annual Speedway Block Party

We welcomed summer with the Annual Speedway Block Party, where food and drinks were enjoyed by all as we toasted to the sunny days ahead. Garage B kept the energy high with dance parties and games for both families and adults, while live music set the soundtrack for a perfect summer celebration.

July: The Vegan Women’s Market

In July, we hosted the first-ever Vegan Women’s Market, where The Vegan Market and Boston Women’s Market teamed up to spotlight women entrepreneurs and businesses. Community members sampled delicious vegan foods while shopping from an incredible lineup of local vendors.

August: Rat City Art + Music Festival

For the first time, The Speedway hosted the Rat City Art + Music Festival. We were thrilled to welcome this event and provide a space to spotlight local artists and musicians, all while raising money to help combat the rodent issues impacting neighborhoods throughout the community.

Fall 2025

September: Notch Oktoberfest

Notch’s largest event of the year brought together fans of great beer and lederhosen for an annual celebration filled with music, food, and plenty of fun!

October: Left of The Charles

The Second Annual On the Left of the Charles Music Festival took place, bringing together locals and first-time visitors for a fun-filled weekend of entertainment and shopping.

November: Earth and Gesture Gallery

We were thrilled to host a three-week-long art gallery in our Annex event space, showcasing the work of a talented local artist, Aimee Heinnickel. In partnership with Notch, guests could enjoy carefully crafted beverages while exploring the gallery, which was open weekends throughout November.

Speeding into 2026

Thank you for being part of it all this year. This place wouldn’t be what it is without our amazing vendors and incredible patrons. Here’s to a year full of memories and to many more ahead! We’re excited to continue building alongside partners like Brighton Bazaar, Coolidge Corner Theatre, Divine Comedy,  and Rat City Arts Festival-and to keep creating meaningful moments together. In 2026, we’re excited to continue being a staple in the Brighton community, from community events and local partnerships to the everyday moments that bring neighbors together.
