Rite Tea & Espresso

Tea and coffee lovers, rejoice. Rite Tea & Espresso is now open at the Speedway!

Rite is the first bricks and mortar location of The Wicked Thrawl, which has been popping up at the Koji Club over the past year.

What can you expect? A beautiful coffee and tea bar, offering tea, coffee, espresso and a wide range of seasonal specialty drinks. Rite is a haven where enthusiasts can gather, indulge in their passions, and expand their understanding of tea, coffee, whisky, and the intricacies of local food systems.

Rite also offers breakfast and lunch bites, and every menu item is a labor of local love. Try the sweet yogurt bowl with ginger marmalade or the savory yogurt bowl with pickled beets and microgreens. Another must try: the toasts!  There’s the marmalade toast, with ginger marmalade and yuzu salt;  the maple vanilla butter toast, made with smoked vermont maple syrup; and the savory beans on toast, made with brothy garlicky cannellini beans.

Rite and The Wicked Thrawl follow the wheel of the year. Keep checking back in for new and expanded menu items that change with the season.

Notch Brewing

Notch Brewing

The first Boston location for the popular Salem-based craft brewery, Notch Brewing’s Brighton taproom is their take on a traditional Czech and German-style beer hall, while their expansive biergarten makes it the perfect place to gather year-round.

The taproom and biergarten are home to frequent events, such as live music, hands-on workshops, movie nights, and plenty of opportunities to gather.

Launched in 2010, Notch Brewing – named for the nick made to keep record when you’re having more than one – was the first brewing company in the U.S. to focus exclusively on session beer, which only has 4.5% alcohol or less. These lower alcohol beers, based on classic session styles from the Czech Republic, Germany, England, and Belgium, are the perfect way to bring people together for a good time.

In July of 2022, Notch Brewing was named Boston’s Best Brewery in Boston Magazine‘s annual Best of Boston issue.

The Koji Club

The Koji Club

Boston’s first sake bar!

The Koji Club is a safe space to learn about and celebrate Japanese sake, and to reframe sake from an esoteric sushi companion to an approachable everyday beverage choice. At the Koji Club, guests can enjoy sake while also learning about its culture and history from an industry leader and tastemaker.

Founded in 2020 by advanced sake professional Alyssa Mikiko DiPasquale, the Koji Club started out as a “virtual clubhouse” of bi-weekly tastings and special events, though the long term vision always included a physical location. We are so glad Alyssa found her home in The Speedway.

In July 2022, Alyssa was named Boston Magazine‘s Best Beverage Director in their annual Best of Boston issue, and most recently on Condé Nast Travelers’ 2023 Hot List: Best New Restaurants in the World
